Making Personal Growth Simple, One Habit at a Time.

Have you ever felt drawn to personal growth, but the advice you found seemed overwhelming… Like it was meant for experts?
That’s how I felt too, and most likely, why you’re here.
You’re curious about making positive changes, which is fantastic!
But let’s be honest, it can feel like walking into a huge bookstore, not knowing which shelf to start with, right?
I felt that way too, a few years ago.
Most personal growth advice skipped the basics, leaving beginners like me lost.
So, I decided to find a simpler way to prove that even the smallest steps, taken consistently, could lead to big changes.
And here’s what I learned: start right where you are.
For me, that meant a pen and notebook, writing down my daily feelings.
That’s how it all began.
What Will You Find at Her New Habits?
The goal of this website is simple.
I want to use my own experiences to show that self-growth doesn’t need to be complicated.
It can, and should be simple, practical, and achievable for everyone, especially beginners.
Imagine being able to intentionally shape your daily habits, leading to a healthier, happier you.
That’s the heart of Her New Habits.

- I love matcha, 100% chocolate and, I follow a plant-based diet.
- I’m taking a break from most social media, but I post on Pinterest and Threads occasionally.
- I enjoy thrillers or sci-fi movies.

How Did I Get Started?

The Beginning
Ever since I was young, I’ve often heard, “You’re so quiet.”
This used to bother me (and sometimes still does). It made me feel hurt.
I wished I could be like other kids who could easily say whatever they wanted, but I always felt like I was in my own world.
This led me to isolate myself and often feel like an outsider.
2010-2013
When I started college, things didn’t improve much. They got harder.
I began feeling more self-conscious and anxious than ever.
Every day, it felt like life was happening all around me, but I wasn’t truly a part of it.
Studying Psychology was one of the best choices I’ve made.
Things became clearer as I learned about human behavior, the brain, and mindfulness.
I realized that I could change how I had been feeling all those years. But first, I had to understand why I felt that way.
That’s when I started journaling.
It wasn’t fancy. Just a few lines a day about how I was feeling.
This simple practice revealed a lot.
I began to understand how small actions, beliefs, and surroundings influence me each day.

2014 – 2019
In 2014, I was a typical college student: tired, short on money, and unhealthy.
My days centered around waking up late, a combined breakfast/lunch, and classes.
I wasn’t living, and I felt awful!
During this period, close family members were diagnosed with cancer and Alzheimer’s.
This made me ask, “Why? Why them? What causes these diseases? Can they be prevented?”
I soon learned that many long-term illnesses are linked to our daily habits.
As I learned more, I found that people have improved their health by changing their habits.
I learned that one way to get healthier is through exercise. But this felt overwhelming at first.
I didn’t join a gym or buy expensive equipment. I started walking to work. Months later, I set aside 20 minutes to do simple workouts at home.
2020 – 2021
Later, another relative was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
This prompted me to learn about nutrition and gut health. I was amazed by what I learned and decided to stop eating sugar completely.
As someone who loved Oreos, this seemed tough. But I was able to do it by making small changes, like adding more food that satisfied me.
This showed me that even big changes are possible with small steps.

2021 – Present
I started Her New Habits to share everything I’m learning.
I’ve developed several good habits and created a routine that I love.
(Most of these things in my routine don’t cost me any money.)
Now in my 30s, I feel healthier, happier, and more energetic than ever.
Here’s My Progress So Far:
Physical Well-being:
- I exercise 4 times per week and walk daily.
- I focus on eating whole foods.
- I successfully quit sugar.
Mental Well-being:
- I meditate every day for 10 to 20 minutes.
- I write in my journal every day.
- I quit Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
Creativity/hobbies:
- I read four books per month.
- I write daily on my blog.
Building habits is like planting seeds.
You start with one, water it consistently,
and eventually, it grows.
These habits weren’t built overnight. It was a process of adding one small change at a time.
Through my journey, I discovered that personal growth doesn’t have to be complicated.
It’s about finding simple, practical steps that fit into your life, no matter where you’re starting.
Her New Habits is where I share the tools I wish I had when I began.
I hope my story encourages you to develop positive habits and begin your journey of self-improvement.
Join me as we learn about the power of routine, mindfulness, and a positive mindset.
